BEIJING, July 8 (Xinhua) -- The following is a summary of published science and technology news of China.
NUCLEIC ACID SAMPLING STATION
A positive pressure sampling station has been introduced to conduct nucleic acid tests in Beijing, allowing medical staff inside not to wear protective equipment.
The station, mainly developed by an institute under the Academy of Military Sciences of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, provides a comfortable working environment and spacious interior, which can greatly improve the working efficiency of sampling.
COVID-19 CONVALESCENT PLASMA POOL
China's Wuhan plans to build a pool of convalescent plasma collected from donors who have recovered from COVID-19, to help more patients.
Over the past five months, a total of 1,319 recovered COVID-19 patients have donated 460,000 ml plasma in Wuhan. The city has also received 17,500 ml of donated plasma from other Chinese provinces.
DATA FROM REMOTE-SENSING SATELLITE
China has successfully received data from the newly launched high-resolution multi-mode imaging satellite.
The satellite, launched on July 3, is a civil-use optical remote-sensing satellite with a resolution up to the sub-meter level.
