Israeli cloud computing startup acquired by Amazon

TEL AVIV, Israel - After days of rumors, an Israeli startup called CloudEndure has finally confirmed its acquisition on Twitter.

The Israeli company, that claims to be a specialist in cloud disaster recovery and backup has announced that it has been acquired by Amazon's cloud computing company, Amazon Web Services (AWS).

While Amazon has not confirmed the acquisition so far, earlier Israels Haaretz newspaper reported that Amazon was looking to buy CloudEndure for $200 million.

However, the Israeli company which was established in 2012, has not released any financial details of the deal.

It said in a tweet, "CloudEndure is now an AWS company. This acquisition expands our ability to deliver innovative and flexible migration, disaster recovery and backup solutions."

So far, CloudEndure has raised over $18 million from investors including Dell Technologies Capital, VMware, Mitsui, Infosys and Magma Venture Partners.

The company offers disaster recovery, continuous backup and migration tools across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and VMware.

Following the confirmation on its acquisition, Israeli media posited that the deal was worth around the $200 million-$250 million mark.
