Latin America eliminated from Danish aid schedules
New Delhi News.Net Saturday 20th March, 2010
Denmark’s Minister of Development, Soren Pind, has told Latin American countries they will be eliminated from the Danish International Development Agency economic aid programs.
Minister Pind announced Denmark would leave Latin in an orderly manner to concentrate instead on a new development strategy.
He said Denmark wanted to cut the number of money recipient countries so it could concentrate on helping more vulnerable world communities in areas of poverty, democracy and human rights, growth, employment, equality, environment and climate change.
At this stage it appears Denmark is likely to concentrate efforts on the African continent.
Denmark annually assigns 0.83% of its GDP to foreign aid
