Bollywood rules the ramp as Shah Rukh Khan with wife Gauri dazzle at Karan's show
New Delhi News.Net Saturday 17th October, 2009 (ANI)
Mumbai, Oct.17 : Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan walked the ramp with his wife Gauri Khan for the grand finale show of director-turned-designer Karan Johar at the HDIL India Couture Week, hosted in Mumbai on Friday.
HDIL (Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited) is one of the premier real estate developers in India.
Bollywood director-turned designer Karan Johar along with Varun Bahl launched their men's clothing line which they showcased at the grand finale.
With 'Rock Star' being the theme of the show, the philosophy of the clothes was formal and sophisticated with a modern yet understated tone of Glamour.
Both Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan were roped in as the showstoppers for the eve. Joining them on the ramp were two other Bollywood heartthrobs Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor who were dressed in jackets and formal trousers.
It was a Deepavali-eve treat for all the people from Bollywood and fashion fraternity present on the occasion.
"I think Gauri and Shah Rukh are one of the most beautiful celebrity couples. They share energy, a bond and love since years but everyone wants to discover it through them. That onstage walk was one of the warmer moments of tonight's show," said Karan Johar, Bollywood film producer and director turned-designer.
Shah Rukh Khan, who was dressed in a semi formal black shirt, jacket and formal trousers, was all praise for his close friend Karan Johar.
"Whatever he (Karan Johar) does, he does because he enjoys doing it and enjoys it with the people that he works with. So I hope there is lot of enjoyment and happiness and fun in this. I wouldn't know about the business. I will be speaking out of turn if I talk about the business of fashion but I hope and wish him the best," said Shah Rukh Khan.
Bollywood certainly looked commanding the ramp at this edition of HDIL sponsored India Couture week Email this story to a friend
