Rumours that Musharraf might live in US
New Delhi News.Net Tuesday 19th August, 2008
The United States says it will study any application for asylum by ex-Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf but has pointed out that no such bid had been made so far.
Earlier, Mr Musharraf Tuesday said he was not leaving the country in the wake of his resignation from the highest post.
Musharraf said he loved his country and would not leave Pakistan.
But, after his announcement, some media reported that he might eventually choose to leave.
It is believed the staunch US "war on terror" ally has also been offered asylum in Saudi Arabia, Britain, the United Arab Emirates or Turkey.
